This San Francisco-based cryptocurrency exchange was founded in 2011. Its website is available in two languages: English (British and American versions) and Japanese. The exchange supports both crypto-to-crypto and crypto-to-fiat operations. The list of fiats available for trading at Kraken includes US dollars, Canadian dollars, Euros, and Japanese Jens. The platform also offers over a hundred of cryptocurrencies for trading.
The registration procedure consists of filling up an application form and confirming the account via Email. After that, traders have to verify their accounts, if they want to withdraw fiat money or cryptocurrency. The verification procedure has four stages. Each of them requires more information about the trader. Monthly withdrawal limits vary from $20.000 after the first stage of verification to $200.000 after the fourth stage.
Kraken fees vary from 0% to 0.16% for makers and from 0.1% to 0.26% for takers. The deposit charge ranges from $5 to $10, depending on the trader’s country, and the withdraw charge – from $5 to $60.
